Job description 💼
- We are looking for an experienced and agile-minded senior engineer to join our growing team and help lead the software development efforts that bring our technology stack to the next level while defining a re-usable architecture that can improve the speed of innovation.
- In this role, you'll be building cutting edge and highly distributed systems to support online retailers around the world
- You will be creating and maintaining central features across our global website and contributing to and working alongside an established development team
- You will collaborate with Dev teams, Designers and PMs to develop user-facing features, predominantly using Ruby and leveraging the Rails Framework
- You will Review PRs from other team members to maintain quality and share knowledge
What do we expect from you 👩💻
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5+ years of equivalent professional or military experience
- 8+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Ruby, Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with teams across the business
- Desire to build and maintain scalable, readable and secure code
- Solid experience of wielding large scale applications
- Professional proficiency in English
- Strong curiosity and a desire to always be learning
- 5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Demonstrated experience in test framework design and development
Nice to haves (not required)
- Experience in working within the e-commerce space
- An understanding of the order fulfilment process for online retailers
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- Experience with AWS and other cloud technologies
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
